GOALS:
Provide basic and advanced
courses, conferences, symposia’s, roundtables, poster
sessions, and other available educational avenues during the
annual Clinical Congress of the American Society for
Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN). (ASPEN’s Goals
of Clinical Practice and Education
Actively promote nutrition
research and education in Ibero & Latin American countries
through the submission of abstracts for presentation during
the annual ILAS meeting at the ASPEN Clinical
Congress and recognize the winning presented abstracts
through selected awards. (ASPEN’s Goal of Research).
Promote nutrition support
education through mentoring by and for ILAS members
throughout the world in concert with similar efforts by
other organizations, i.e. Federation Latino Americana de
Nutrición Parenteral y Enteral (FELANPE),
International Confederation of Nutrition Support
Organizations (ICNSO), and European Society of
Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ESPEN). (ASPEN’s
Goal of Education and Communication).
Develop a multi-disciplinary
directory of nutrition support professionals willing to
serve as mentors and/or hosts for interested and qualified
physicians, dietitians, nurses, and pharmacists. (ASPEN’s
Goal of Governance).
Participate in an advisory
capacity, when requested, to the ASPEN Board of Directors,
its representatives to the ICNSO, ASPEN’s Latin-American
Ambassador, FELANPE, and other organizations. (ASPEN’s
Goals of Governance and Communication).
Serve as a link between the
ASPEN’s Board of Directors and individual Spanish and/or
Portuguese speaking members of ASPEN. (ASPEN’s Goal of
Communication).
Develop and implement
mechanisms for assuring compliance with ASPEN by-laws and
section guidelines. (ASPEN’s Goal of Governance).
Actively solicit
participation in all facets of ILAS activities, by all
potential ILAS members willing to serve on
committees, educational informational activities,
leadership, policy development and outcome based research.
